What Saiyajin Health is all about
You may know the Saiyajins or Sayans from the world-renowned Dragonball anime franchise.
Those guys are extraterrestrial fighters with a monkey-tail who can tap into their feral side by
transforming into powerful beasts. The term Saiyajin roughly translates to Wild-Vegetable-Person.
Now, I don’t wanna turn you into bloodthirsty vegan warriors from outer space, because you know, sometimes they snap and destroy a planet and stuff. But I’d love to help you be in touch with your instincts, gain a broader perspective and become strong enough to boldly follow your dreams however crazy they are. (Please don’t dream of destroying planets.)
Despite the spacy name, this is a down-to-earth health and happiness journal that aims to help you get in shape to crush all the rocks a long and active life will throw your way. I won’t tell you how to do squats and pushups or what and when to eat but I’ll help you make decisions that work for you.
I’m certain you came across the advice to better care about body, mind and soul if you wanna be alive and kicking. Let’s be a little more specific here and define those three for our sustainable health journal.
Body – physical health
As we all know, you can’t separate body and mind when it comes to health. But let’s keep it simple for starters. The very basics of physical health would be exercise, recovery and nutrition. Obviously, our physical health greatly benefits from social contact and from eliminating everything that stresses us out - which elegantly leads us to the next point.
Mind – mental health
This includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. The state our mental health is in affects what and how we think and feel and how we act upon our emotions and insights. A true Saiyajin always wants to keep a cool head, even in the heat of battle. Whether you face the god of destruction in an epic battle or try to calm down your 4-year-old, which may be the same thing, right?
Soul – philosophical insight
Insights are a tricky thing because those insights you gain while being affected by stress may give you wrong or harmful convictions. A cool insight for someone like you who aims to become a Saiyajin is that thinking a little better of yourself than you really are is very motivating and keeps you going. I know that sounds quite psychological and indeed the boundaries are blurring. You may also want to think of insights as an unbiased understanding of the nature of things.
Working on those three parameters a little and bringing them together in your very own way will hopefully level up your resilience, give you the strength to persevere and make you crush those rocks mid-air with flying kicks - figuratively AND literally.
Just have a good time flipping through the articles, find some inspiration, and if all else fails, shoot me a message, will ya? I’ll make sure you’ll be over 9000 in no time!
